What are "best practices"?
A best practice is a method or technique that has consistently shown results superior to those achieved with other means (Wikipedia). In almost any
endeavor, there's the right way to do it; and, there's the wrong way, .. or the easy way, .. or the fast way. Best practices may not be fun
or exciting, but they reap the most benefit in the long run. Some examples:
- Measure twice, cut once.
- Check your spelling.
- Wear safety glasses.
- Change your oil every 5000 miles.
Best practices also apply in regards to technology. A well-maintained computer will perform better and last longer than one that's not.
In buying electronics and procuring services, there are right and wrong ways to go about it.
Many times, people don't know what the best practice is.
Sometimes, they do; but, they choose to dismiss their better sense - or put it off until a more opportune time.
We've seen a lot of the mistakes that people make with technology; and, there are definite patterns. We can help you put "best practice" into practice.
