The Company
H Street Business Solutions was founded to provide the
small business or home user with an asset that is available
in larger business environments, but is sorely lacking in
the small office or home environment - expert IT support.
Such support divides into three basic areas
- troubleshooting & repairs
- advice & upgrades
- backup & restore
The complexity of computer systems today make many feel ill-at-ease
with the technology that they depend on every day. The goal
of H Street Business Solutions is to put the computer user’s
mind at ease by providing expert IT support and trusted data
backup services.
The name: H-Street Business Solutions
 The
Foggy Bottom area of Washington, DC is nestled between the
National Mall, Georgetown, and the Potomac River. Early on,
German and Irish immigrants and African American workers were
attracted to the light industry prevalent on the site. There,
they lived in narrow row houses. Today, it is a quiet and
pleasant neighborhood retaining its color in the midst of
such landmarks as the Kennedy Center, George Washington University,
and the Watergate Hotel. The row houses are still there, often
featuring well-groomed landscaping and brightly colored exteriors.
Of the streets that comprise the area, H Street is, of course,
one.
It was here that the idea for H Street Business Solutions
took seed and was cultivated by the founder as he was jogging
or walking through the area. The small, well-groomed neighborhood,
as well as the small and colorful houses seemed a good metaphor
for a small, local business helping other local businesses
survive and flourish in the midst of the intense milieu of
hi-tech.
The President
Scott Kushnier has been captivated with computer technology
from a young age. He earned a Master’s degree in Computer
Science and has been an IT professional since 1986.
Scott spent over ten years designing advanced software
for the US Navy, where he won several awards for software
support activities and authored a number of research papers.
Scott was also the system administrator for the Information
Fusion Laboratory of the Naval Air Warfare Center, Patuxent
River, Maryland. He conceived H Street Business Solutions
in 2003 as a way to help the everyday computer user, in particular
the small business entrepreneur, contend with the increasingly
complex and intense world of computer technology.
